Essentials of a Tunisian wardrobe
Must-have pieces for women, men and children — useful year-round in Tunisia.

A well-planned wardrobe does not need dozens of pieces. In Tunisia, a few well-chosen essentials are enough for daily life, family occasions and outings with friends or colleagues.
For women: a quality hijab, one or two versatile abayas, a jilbab for more covering days, an elegant midi dress for events, and a coat or cardigan for winter. Neutral basics — black, beige, navy — make pairing easier.
For men: two qamis or thobes, sober shirts, comfortable trousers and a jacket for cooler evenings. For children: practical outfits, easy to put on, in sizes with a little room to grow.
Before buying, ask three questions: is it modest enough for my habits? is it comfortable at 35 degrees? can I wear it at least three times a month? If yes, it is a sound investment.
“Fewer pieces, better chosen — that is the rule of a wardrobe that truly serves you.”
